Hey guys, it's Joy! Bro, the end of June is always so sad- Pride month goes by way too fast. Let's just get into what we have to talk about for this month, which is 2 main things: "Criminally Yours (Part 2)/Criminally Mine" and "Rectifier: In Bloom"

Criminally Yours

So I finished the script for Criminally Yours- I'd announced it on my socials, mainly Tumblr, when it happened early this month, June 2nd. It's a total of almost exactly 80k words- so in combination with its first part, it's a total of 103k words!

I'm very proud of what I have, and the production of the game itself is going very well. We have all of the game base scripted, not fully coded, but all of those 80k words are in. We mainly just have art assets that need to be finished and put in, and I have to finish cutting all 1,000 voice lines.

You read that right, 1k voice lines. Which makes sense, it's fully voice-acted for the paid version of the game. I've done about 300 total so far, I'm confident to get them all done in time, and slotting them into the game is relatively simple.

So development is going great…however, there's one major thing I need to talk about. So, this is one of my first commercial projects, and as such, I want to put the game on Steam since all games, even visual novels, perform better there. However, the bare minimum you need is 2 weeks for Steam to review a game build before it can be uploaded to the site. As a result, even if we finished the game and posted on Itch.io in time for August 1st, which we could easily do, that wouldn't mean it launches with the Steam build, and that's not a good idea to have them separated. So we made a tough decision to extend the release date out until August 29th.

I know 3 weeks is a long time, and equally not a huge amount of time for a setback. But I felt really bad it had to come to this at all. I was so set on the original release date, but I know it's for the best and a necessary move if I want my team to be paid back for all their hard work. I promise we will not set the release date back any further than the 29th of August. Expect to be able to play Part 2 in its entirety and have a polished and exciting experience! We've all worked super hard on it. And I hope you'll enjoy it!

Rectifier: In Bloom

Okay, and most importantly! Rectifier: In Bloom was released yesterday! (the demo) which is 2/7 complete routes: Greer and Lior. This version of the game is free!

The paid version of Rectifier: In Bloom will include the remaining 5 guys: Stiles, Glyph, Wren, Percy, and Emile.

We plan to release Stiles' route next. He will only be accessed when you pay $5.99 for the game, then throughout July, the file you downloaded will update with a new guy until they are all completed before August 1st.

Alright, that about wraps everything up! Bit of a short one. June was super productive, and July will be much the same, though admittedly a little less stressful now, since a lot of work has been done on my part, and it's now a matter of sitting back and waiting for a lot of pieces to come together.
